Hayk Tigranyan

Bass opera singer

Hayk Tigranyan, was born in Yerevan, Armenia (30․10․1984) 

Education: He graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, firstly at the Brass Department as an oboist, and later at the Vocal-theory Department as an opera singer. In 2008 received Master degree of Academic music. He had studied with Prof. Petrovich and also had attended Master courses with a world famous tenor Gegham Grigoryan.  On summer  2019 in Spain (Madrid) Hayk Tigranyan took masterclasses with vocal coach  Dale Fundling.
WORK EXPERIENCE: During his study Hayk has gained work experience as an oboe player in Yakutsk State Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theater (conductor Chilkevich-2002) and later in Armenian State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre as a  choir artist.
Since 2008 Hayk is the principal bass opera singer of Armenian State Academic  Opera and Ballet Theatre.
He has performed as a guest artist in many cities, including among others Berlin, Frankfurt, Götha, Eisenach, Dreieich , Russelsheim, Darmshtadt, Tallin,  Kaunas, Riga, Parnu, Beirut, Moscow,  St. Petersburg, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Paris, Rome, Vienna and others including the world’s most famous opera houses, such as Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Latvian National Opera, the Bolshoi (Grand) Theater in Moscow, etc.
OPERA PREMIERES
Hayk Tigranyan debuted at the National Academic theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan with the role of Kyoxva in A.Tigranyan’s “Anush” (2008). Than he performed with the roles of Melik  in A.Tigranyan’s Davit Bek, Vasak in A.Tigranyan’s Arshak B (2010), Bazar Bashi in A. Harutyunyan’s Sayat Nova (2011). In 2013 performed the main role of Avo in “Artsvaberd” opera by Andrey Babaev with the Armenian State Philharmonic orchestra.

RECENT OPERA DEBUTS AND PREMIERES

On the 30 of November and December 2 Hayk Tigranyan performed the role of Bonzo in G․ Puccini’s Madame Butterfly opera under the button of conductor Mihran Aghajanyan.On  the of July, 2023, he performed the role of Timur at the premiere of Turandot by Giacomo Puccini under the button of conductor VartanGrigoryan.
On the 11 of March, 2023  Hayk Tigranyan performed the role of Don Profondo in Rossinis Il Viaggio a Reims  at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow under the botton of conductor Alexei Vereshchagin.
On the 28 of July, 2022 with Armenian National Philharmonic orchestra Hayk performed the role of Lodoviko in Verdi’s “Otello” with world-famous opera stars Arsen Soghomonyan, Vladimir Sulimski and Liana Aleksanian under the bottom of conductor Ed. Topchyan.
On 20 of January 2023, Hayk Tigranyan permormed the main role of Nadir Shah in Alexandr Spendiaryans Almast opera.
On the 11,14 of December, 2021 at Armenian opera House Hayk performed the role of Timur during the concert performance PREMIERE of Puccini’s opera Turandot under the bottom of  conductor Karen Durgaryan.
On the 21of November, 2020 at Chaykovsky Concert hall in Moscow with the Moscow State Academic Chamber choir (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor: Vladimir Minin) Hayk Tigranyan has sung G. Rossinis “Petite messe solennelle” under the bottom of conductor Timofey Golberg.
On  the 7 of October, 2019 at the National Academic theatre of opera and ballet of Armenia Hayk Tigranyan performed  the role of  Roshe during the PREMIERE of Umberto Giordano’s opera Andrea Chenier opera with Yerevan opera and ballet orchestra. This opera was conducted by greate Italian conductor Gianluca Marchiano.

  • On the 6th, 7th and 8th of September 2018, during the Armenian opera company tours in Dubai opera theatre Hayk Tigranyan performed the role of Zuniga in Bizets “Carmen” opera. (Conductor Christopher Ocasek (USA), director Naire Stepanyan).
On the 28th of September 2018, during the Armenian opera company tours in Kuweit opera house he performed the role of Papageno in  Mozarts “Die Zauberflöte” opera(Director Paolo Micciché-Italy,conductor Harutyun Arzumanyan).
On the 13th  of April  and 7th of October, 2018 during the FRANCOPHONIE days  in Armenia  Hayk Tigranyan performed the role of  Le Conte des Grieux  in Manon  opera by Massenet for French and Armenian dignitaries as part of the Organization of La Francophonie Summit  at Yerevan Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre(Director Andrejs Zagars (Latvia,Riga), conductor Christopher Ocasek (USA)).

On the 14th of September, 2017 Hayk Tigranyan sang VERDIS REQUIEM conducted by Constantine Orbelian /Honored Artist of RF/ with the participation of the Theatre’s Symphonic Orchestra and Choir. An exclusive show “The Last Judgment” has taken place at Yerevan State Opera and Ballet Theatre. G. Verdi’s Requiem has been presented through the staging of famous Italian director Paolo Micciché, visual accompaniment of which has been provided by three-dimensional images of Michelangelo’s frescos of the Sistine Chapel.

On the 9th November, 2017 at the Yerevan State Opera and Ballet Theatre he performed the role of Callistene in the premiere of G. Donizetti’s opera “Il Pogliuto” (conductor Harutyun Arzumanyan).

RECENT  INTERNATIONAL   FESTIVALS

Hayk Tigranyan participated in a number of international festivals
.On the 7th and 8th of July, 2019 during the Burgfestspiele Dreieichenhan Hayk Tigranyan performed in concerts named Italienische Opernnacht in 2019, Belcanto pur, Verdi, Bellini, Donizetti in Dreieichenhain Open Air (Germany) with the Szeged national symphony orchestra under the direction of conductor Helge Dorsch.
.On the 9th of June,2019  in Lithuania, Kaunas Hayk Tigranyan sang VERDIS REQUIEM conducted by Constantine Orbelian /Honored Artist of RF/ with the participation of the Kaunas symphonic orchestra and choir during the Pažaislio musical festival.

On the 12th of April, 2019  Hayk Tigranyan sang the Petite Messe solennelle by Rossini with The Moscow State Academic  Chamber Choir under the direction of VLADIMIR MININ  (The artistic director and the main conductor of the Moscow State Chamber Choir—National Artist of the USSR, the winner of the State premium, Professor) during the “Renaissance” international contest-festival.

  • On the 6th of August, 2018 he performed in concert during the Darmstädter Residenzfestspiele festival, with Darmstadt Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Wolfgang Seeliger, and sang the arias of Zaccaria from G. Verdis “Nabucco“(Germany, Darmstadt).
Hayk Tigranyan participated in a number of festivals including the Gala Opera concert with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet A. Spendiaryan during the
Aram Khachaturyan international festival 2016 (cond. Gianluca Marciano -Italy).
  • He participated in Faberge Ball Pärnu Internationa festival in Estonioa where he performed with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra (Erki Pehk cond.) and the Faberge Ball Pärnu International Festival 2016.
  • In 2013 he had a concert during the “The Stars of White Nights’’ festival in St. Peterburg and sang with Mariinsky Theatre Symphonic orchestra (Russia).
INTERNATIONAL CONCERTS
Concerning his concert repertoire it includes the following renowned musical composores:  Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle, Verdi’s Requiem, Bethowen’s 9th simphony and various opera arias, Armenian national and sacred music.
Hayk Tigranyan has recently performed in Germany, Spain, Estonia, Libanon, Austria, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, South Korea, and Russia with different concert projects.
  • On the 6th of July at Stadttheater Rüsselsheim (Germany) Hayk Tigranyan performed in concert Italienische Opernnacht in 2019, Belcanto pur, Verdi, Bellini, Donizetti in Russelsheim with the Szeged national symphony orchestra under the direction of conductor Helge Dorsch.
  •       On  the 30th of September, 2019 he had sung concert in Russia, Krasnodar at Krasnodar Philharmonic society named after G.F. Ponomarenko with Komitas symphonic orchestra (conductor Hovhannes Mirzoyan).
 
  • On the 1st of June, 2018, Hayk Tigranyan performed in concert in Frankfurt (Germany) Italienische Opernnacht “Hommage an Gioachino Rossini” with Rossini’s program  with Gottinger  Symphonic  orchestra, under the direction of conductor Hermann Breuer.
 
From the 20th of October to 22nd of October 2017, he performed in concerts in several German cities such as Götha, Eisenach and Frankfurt. Concert Rossini Zum 225 was devoted to the 225th anniversary of Rossini. Hayk Tigranyan performed with Rossini’s program with the Thuringian Philharmonic
  • Orchestra under the direction of conductor Herman Brauer. The main concert took place on the 22nd of October at the famous opera house Alte in Frankfurt.
  • In 2017 he had a solo concert in Estonia – Tallin with Helin Kapten (piano).
  • In 2017Hayk Tigranyan sang with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra  (cond. E.Topchyan) during the concert “For You Aznavour” devoted to the world-famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour.
  • In 2015 he participated in a concert tour with the ‘’KOHAR’’ symphony orchestra as a soloist and also gave four concerts in Lebanon in Beirut.
  • In 2012 being the soloist of the “KOHAR” Symphony Orchestra and choir he participated in a concert tour in the South America, giving concerts in famous auditoriums such as Nacional del Sodre of Montevideo (Uruguay), Auditorio Ibirapuera Sao Paulo (Brazil), Orpheus Superdomo Cardoba (Argentina) and The Luna Park Buenos Aires (Argentina).Also in 2012 he took part in concerts of ‘’American Gala’’ where sang American songs and also Verdiana Gala concert singing Verdi’s operas with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.

AWARDS

Hayk Tigranyan has been honored numerous awards:

  • In 2017, on the 1st of September Minister N.Aghbalyan on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Culture of Artsakh Republic rewarded Hayk Tigranyan for the Great performance in the role of Msra Melik during the Artsakh premiere of Sasuntsi Davit opera by H. Stepanyan devoted to the day of Artsakh independence and 25 anniversary of Shushi Liberation.
  • In 2015 he won the 4th International Competition Jazeps Vitols at the Latvian National Opera theatre. In 2013 he was awarded with a diploma by the International Association of Lawyers and psychologists as a devotee of Armenian Music Art.
  • Hayk Tigranyan was honored with a certificate of appreciation from the Minister of Youth and Culture of Nagorno-Karabakh N. Aghabalyan, as the best singer in the role of Avo in the opera Artsvaberd.
  • In 2012 he won the 28th World Competition called “Spring of April” in the Democratic Republic of South Korea.
  • In 2012 he was awarded with a diploma from the national radio for the greatest record of Korean national music.
  • In 2011 he received the Certificate of Honor signed by the Minister of Culture Hasmik Pogosyan for great contribution in the field of Opera music during the 21th Anniversary of Armenian Independence.
  • Also he is a laureate of numerous other Competitions of the international and regional level including Competition dell’ opera (Austria-2015), Klaudia Taev competition (Estonia-2015), Pavel Lisitsyan Competition (Russia-2012).
